A Series of Educator Training Sessions for Working with Deaf & Hard of Hearing Students in the Mainstream Classroom
Part 3 will cover Fundamentals:
- Social Pressure and Social Skills
- Listening Skills
- Self-Esteem and Advocacy Skills
We are excited to welcome presenters, Amy King & Kristi Stano, OCTs, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialists from The Ministry of Education.
We will learn about the impact of social pressure and how to support the development of social skills specifically for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students. We will learn about ways to support the development of listening skills, self-esteem and advocacy.
By the end of the session:
- I can understand social pressure and support the development of the student’s social skills

I can support the development of the student’s listening skills

I can support the development of the student’s self-esteem and advocacy skills
Teacher Candidates must have participated in Part 1 (either by attending live or reviewing the recording) in order to access Parts 2 & 3. The event details for Parts 2 & 3 will be emailed to those who participated in Part 1. Participants who complete all three sections will receive a Certificate of Completion.
