[REQUIRED] Children’s Aid Society: Duty to Report
March 2 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm UTC-4
As a teacher, and as a teacher candidate, you have a “Duty to Report” to Children’s Aid when you have concerns that a child or youth may be in need of protection.
This session will help participants understand when and how to report a concern, the impact of bias, and what happens with the information the agency receives.
Meeting ID: 986 1125 9941
An official duty to report presentation needs to be facilitated by child protection workers with the opportunity for discussion, clarification and questions. We cannot replicate the session or publicly share CAS resources.
Teacher Candidates who need supporting resources for this session should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will learn about the Duty to Report obligations, including relevant indicators, perceptions and bias. We will also review the referral process.
By the end of the session:
- I can identify and act on Duty to Report obligations
- I can understand how perceptions influence reporting to a Children’s Aid Society
- I can explain how to make a referral to Children’s Aid and what might happen next.
